Java WebStart fails with, "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException"
This error has been observed on one installation and appears to be the result of an environment specific conflict.
When attempting to run Athena Player, you are presented with the following error:
Pressing the "Details" button shows:
During our investigation we found uninstalling and re-installing Java had no effect.
The solution we used to get round the problem was to change the Java network settings to avoid using the browser configuration, and instead use the direct connection option. The following describes the steps taken:
- Go to Start -> Control Panel
- Double click "Java"
- Press the "Network Settings" button
- Press the "Direct Connection" radio button
Once the above had been changed, Athena Player installed just fine
