Athena Studio

The Studio application is currently under development, we are hoping to reach release candidate stage soon. If you have any suggestions as to what you'd like to see in version 1.0, it's not too late, get your suggestion to our suggestions address!

The Studio application is the tool used by the author of the exam to build the Athena configuration that will, ultimately, be deployed with the Player application.

Features

Feature Details

Simple interface for quick package creation

The software is designed to allow for the quick creation of exam packages. Easy of use is a primary consideration of ours.

Configurable answer types

Currently the software supports either a single correct answer, or multiple correct answers per question. There are plans to implement marking based on missing words, for example, but no specific need has arisen at this time. We are more than happy to consider any other question types that authors have a need for.

Multiple marking schemes

Athena has been designed to incorporate a pluggable marking scheme architecture. This means the system is easily extended to include different marking schemes quickly. Currently, Athena supports two marking schemes:

  • Minimum percentage across all categories
  • This marking scheme uses one minimum percentage to test across each of the categories. For example, 70% must be achieved across all categories.

  • Minimum percentage across each category
  • This marking scheme uses a minimum percentage per category. For example, 70% must be achieved for category one, 50% must be achieved for category two, etc...

New marking schemes will be added over time, with the most often requested ones going in first.

Run on Windows, Linux, MAC

Athena Studio requires Java 1.5 or above to function. Any platform that supports this version of Java is capable of running Athena.
