- What platform does the Athena Suite run on?
Any platform that supports Java 1.5 or upwards. All major platforms (Windows, Linux, MAC) support this version.
- Does the end user need to install anything?
Most clients distribute the Player and exam data on CD. To avoid the student needing to install any software, the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is included on the CD and used to run the Player, so, in answer to the question, no, no software needs to be installed for the player to run if distributed on CD. If the Player is to distributed by internet download however, the JRE must be installed on the students machine
- Can I limit the number of times a user runs the software in exam mode?
No. There are currently no plans to implement this functionality, if this is something you feel strongly about, drop an email to our suggestions address
- Can the software deal with missing words questions?
Not at present. We do plan to implement this in the future though. To get it up the list of priorities, let us know your interest via our suggestions address
- What if I need to make a change to my exam material?
No problem, Athena allows you to specify whether you're changes are major - requiring a new serial for the end user - or minor - meaning the end user does not require a new serial
- Can I distribute a 'trial' version of my exam for download?
Sure, a trial exam - thus requiring no serial - must have less than 20 questions though

Please refer to the Download uninstallation instructions
- I've purchased a CD from an Author, can I copy it to my local machine?
Yes you can, just copy the entire contents of the CD to a local directory, for example c:\exam, and run the course by double clicking the AthenaPlayer.exe in that directory
- We use a proxy server to access the internet, will this be a problem?
No, this isn't a problem, please refer to the proxy configuration instructions for details
- How can I launch the application?
There are a few ways to run Athena Player, a full list of options is available here
- How should the software be deployed in a College/Corporate environment?
