The Athena log file contains valuable information to help us analyse problems encountered on client machines. The log file is automatically created everytime the software is run.
The contents of the log file are not in a human readable format, and will look like gibberish if opened in a text editor.
Locating the Log File
Depending on the operating system you are running, the log file will be in different location, use the table below to find the log file on your system:
| Operating System | Log File Path |
|---|---|
| Windows XP | C:\documents and settings\[your user name]\athena.log |
| Windows Vista | C:\Users\[your user name]\athena.log |
| Windows 7 | C:\Users\[your user name]\athena.log |
| Linux | /home/[your user name]\athena.log |
| OS X (Mac) | /Users/[your user name]\athena.log |
Note: Depending on your Windows Explorer settings you may not see the extension ".log", it may be hidden, in which case look for the file named "athena" with the type "Text Document" or "Log".
